The Engel family's baking tradition began in the mid 1920's when Baruch "The Baker" Engel made his first cake in a small village in Poland. His son Izsak stood by his side during his childhood and learned the special secrets of baking. Over the years his name became synonymous with good quality baking. In 1946 Izsak, as a teenager, immigrated from Poland to Israel. Izsak founded a local confectionary in Tel Aviv in 1952 – I. Engel Bakery. The bakery expanded selling from one neighbourhood to another. By the late 1970's, Doron, 3rd generation finished his electronic studies, joined the business and developed an automated bakery. In the following years Engel Bakery sold a quality range of cookies nationwide. Doron's son, Liron Engel – 4th generation, finished his economics and law studies and joined the family business in the early 1990's as CEO. Liron developed the automated bakery in to a large state of the art modern facility, known today as Engel Cookie Factory. Doron & Liron continued to expand and soon became one of the largest cookie factories and wholesalers in Israel. Their success can be measured by their unique marketing skills, quality baked product line, state of the art facility, 25 delivery trucks and 100 employees. Engel Cookies are now sold worldwide.
